2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Dana 70 or Dana 80, How do I Know what I have?

My 98 12 valve 8800 lb GVW 2500 4X4 Doesn't say anywhere what axle. Not on the build sheet. not on the axle(that I can find). How do I find out?

1998 12V 4X4 manual transmission would be the Dana 80.

Yeah, second gen trucks with a manual had the Dana 80h by default.

Yea, that's what mine had.
Look under the hood for a sticker, buy the 2nd release mechanism.

 

[KATOOM]

Only the 2nd gen 3/4 tons with automatic transmissions came with the Dana 70.
