Anyone replaced a Dana 70 SRW in a 2500 with a Dana 80 from a dually? I can't find a SRW Dana 80 to replace my 70 with, and I haven't had any better luck finding an AAM 11. 5 out of a '03 and up 3500 SRW Ram. Is there any spring perch width difference, and wheel mounting surface difference? Also, what year did Dodge switch to an axle mounted speed sensor, 1999? I'd like to keep my ABS if possible.

pm FULPOWER, he did it. i believe it bolts right up , it is a little wider though. you would need a new drive shaft too. he made the it a puller so he just got now with drums

yep sure did ...

actually had a '96 drw dana 80 on the floor next to a '01 srw dana 70 next to a '95 drw cab and chassis

the drw was 1" wider (on each side ... two inches overall) than the srw which was 1" wider than the cab and chassis

i took the cab and chassis and ran third gen alloys with 35's until this weekend when i converted to a drw short bed ...

it was a direct bolt in except for the passenger side shock mount ... it was on the wrong side of the axle ... grinder and welder flipped it around bolted it in ... put in a set of gm wheel cylinders ...

that was two years ago ... two gear oil changes and all grins

Thanks for the info guys!!! I'd like to start pulling one of these days but don't really want to start until I ditch my 70. And the Dana 80's with discs for 2500's are more scarce than honest politicians. I'll be on the lookout for a DRW 80 now.
