Dana 80 or hybrid? what's the difference

Hey guys... I've got a 97 2500 4x4 5spd. I just bought a 94 3500 auto 2wd chassis cab. I want to convert the 2500 to the dually and the 3500 to single rear wheels. Can I just swap the adapters for the front? What are the differences between the Dana 80 in the 3500 and the hybrid in the 2500? I thought the 3500 had wider brake shoes... ... but not sure. Both trucks have the 3. 54 ratio, so swapping rears is what I'll do. I'm just curious what the differences are. Thanks Todd
