Needs some info as far as I know the 2nd gen trucks had a dana 70 rearend if they were autos and the stick trucks were all dana 80s here is my question I think I found a 80 for a good price the guy gave me the part# off the rearend does anyone know how to cross it over or know ware I can find out the # is 52069454AB the reason I'm asking the guy claims its a 2000 5spd truck but he said the rearend was a dana 60:confused: it will be quite a drive to check it out in person and I don't know if the guy just doesn't know what he has or someone put a 60 in the truck I don't want to come right out and ask him if it's an 80 sounds kind of fishey to me:rolleyes:

so does mine but I did'nt want to ask the guy if his did I dont think he know hes got an 80 if he did he'd probably want more money for it

Can't imagine it is a dana 60. That's the rear they use in my wife's Durango and the Dakotas. I don't see it making sense putting it in a heavy duty truck. Can't even imagine it would fit. The Dana 60 is, however, used as the front axle in our diesel trucks. Perhaps he's right that it's a 60, but just is mistaken as to which end it goes on.

Ya I thought about that to Ford used to use 60s a lot in their 3/4 ton trucks for the rear and 70s in the ton trucks I thought my luck if I drove all the way their to look at it, it would end up being a ford dana 60rear wich I wouldn't give 2 cents for see my problem if I come out and ask the guy if it's an 80 then he might figure out it's worth a bunch more money I don't want that the only thing I have to go off of is the factory part#s he gave me and I need to find out how to use that to determin if it's an 80 or not.

2500 V8 gassers had a rear 60-and according to my '98 parts manual that's what this axle is... . 52069454AB shows as a 3. 54 open D60 out of a 2wd 2500 truck. Too bad... .

I thought all the Durangos and Dakotas got a Chrysler 9. 25 axle, just like the 1500's got.

Looks like JHansen decoded it for you. The D60 is actually probably worth more than the D80 in the big picture, because the vast majority of people looking for these axles are off roaders and they do not want a D80 because the housing is huge and for all intents and purposes it is not much stronger or better than a D60 or D70 for their intended use.

Thanks for the imput I new someone on here could translate the numbers it is to bad that its not an 80 but it did save me a trip and a lot of fuel thanks agin:D

Just thought of something what is a gaser or a 2wd thats whay I didn't know Dodge still used a 60 kinda lost in my Diesel 4wd World :-laf

I hear you..... :) My spare truck is a 440-powered '80 W200 Club Cab-so the gasser part is not totally unfamiliar to me. The 2wd part is more distant-bought an '86 D150 in '91 as a driver that was a good truck-but I could never go back now to a 4X2 truck.
