My Rear Disc Dust Shields have rusted away to a point that they are just about not holding the parking brake shoes in placed inside the rotors. Does anyone know where I can get these (other than from Dodge who wants $200+ per side for the shield)?

I had to get replacement dust shields for the front of my 99 and that was a chore. Guys at the parts stores look at you like your from Mars. Ended up going to a junk yard and getting them. Miraculously all four dust shields on current truck are in A1 condition.also, crowhurst, what rkressg is describing I hope is the shield that goes over the rotor. 01.5+ are 4 wheel disc, backing plate being for drum brakes. Not trying to be a jerk just for clarification...

Rockauto has them for a 2004. They are about $23.00. IIRC, guys that put 3rd gen brakes on a 2nd gen , said the dust shields for the rear are the same. They changed the front to 2003-2008, but the rear were the same. Rockauto didn't list them for 2002. The 2004 were a Dorman part #. Maybe Dorman has a listing for 2001.

Dodge went from Dana rears to AAM rears in 2003. I know nothing about their brake hardware compatability though.

There is a sticky on cumminsforum regarding the 3rd gen to 2nd gen brake conversion. One of the guys that did the conversion ordered the 03-08 rear dust shields (Dorman) and he said they were identical to his original 2nd gen.
