Hey guys;

My brother took my 93 out friday night( his was under my loaded gooseneck) and called me to say I needed to come and look at my truck. To make a long story short I think the ring and pinion decided to give in after 208,000 miles of trailer pullin, truck pulling, holehshots, 3rd gear chirps, and hours of offroading.

My question is will a dana 80 out of a newer dodge bolt in(maybe even one with disc brakes)? I have not went out to measure my brothers dana 80 in his 94. I know that if necessary I could cut off the spring pads and re weld then, but I just got done doing that to my '75 and really don't want to do it to the '93 right now.

I am looking for options. I will rebuild the 70, but if a 80 will go in easily I might switch it out.

Thanks

Michael

Yes you can install a Dana 80 from a later year. I personally have an 89 in which I installed the complete housing from a 95. You will have to do a little re-work of your emergency brake set-up. The width span is a little wider on the 80 however. Not that big of a job.
