Hey Kurt,

When is the Board going get fixed?( Buggie)

The dems little illegitimate takeover of the senate has done in ANY chance of the republicans helping us out, fixing what Clinton has screwed up.

What will it take to defeat this guy? South Dakotans! Unite!

And the rest of the 18 ultra liberals.

From a republican news letter:

Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD) believes the big-spending demands of the Senate's 18 most liberal members, one-third of the Democrat Caucus plus one independent, take priority over the consensus of a bipartisan majority of Senators who want to act now to pass the President's economic recovery plan to help America's unemployed and uninsured.

Daschle has said that "a majority plus one" wasn't enough for him to schedule a vote, but that two-thirds of the Democrat Caucus is "a pretty good figure. " (CNN'S "Novak, Hunt & Shields," December 8, 2001). This means that the 18 most extreme liberals have veto power over anything moving in the Senate. Under this standard, the Senate would have been unable to pass historic bipartisan achievements like welfare reform and a balanced budget.

While the economic slowdown continues to take its toll, Senator Daschle has put the interests of his most liberal colleagues above the interests of America's out-of-work and uninsured families. Our workers need help now, not more partisan political point scoring from a small group of the Senate's most liberal members.

Daschle continues to say the Senate will not even consider an economic security bill unless it is approved by two-thirds of the Democrats in the Senate. That means as few as 18 liberals can block anything from moving in the Senate. It gives Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton absolute veto power over America's business.

The Obstructionists:

Tom Daschle and his gang of 18 liberal Senators blocking the President's economic recovery legislation:

Paul Wellstone (D-MN) 202- 224-5641

Richard Durbin (D-IL) 202- 224-2152

Tom Harkin (D-IA) 202- 224-3254

Paul Sarbanes (D-MD) 202- 224-4524

Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) 202- 224-4654

Charles Schumer (D-NY) 202- 224-6542

Jack Reed (D-RI) 202- 224-4642

Edward Kennedy (D-MA) 202- 224-4543

John Kerry (D-MA) 202- 224-2742

Harry Reid (D-NV) 202- 224-3542

Ron Wyden (D-OR) 202- 224-5244

Patty Murray (D-WA) 202- 224-2621

Byron Dorgan (D-ND) 202- 224-2551

Russ Feingold (D-WI) 202- 224-5323

Barbara Boxer (D-CA) 202- 224-3553

Tom Daschle, (D-SD) 202- 224-2321

John Edwards (D-NC) 202- 224-3154

Patrick Leahy (D-VT) 202- 224-4242

CALL THESE SENATORS NOW and tell them to stop holding your economic security hostage. They need to bring the bipartisan economic security plan to a vote in the Senate.

But he's only doing this to be nasty to the rich and undeserving.

He's really just protecting the poor against the tyrrany of employment and income taxes. His motives are pure, just ask Champane Flight.

I mean, holding up legislation to get more power and money to spend to influence voters in your direction, why that would be saving the people, right? After all, only money spent by the FEDERAL government actually provides people with their needs. That money spent by the citizens themselves is pure waste and evil.

And of course all the republicans want to do is poison the water, starve the children, and throw the old out in the cold!

Call Barbara Boxer?   I will get a return lecture on how I wll be taken care of properly after I give up all personal freedom. After all personal freedom is nothing but greed.   Same FECES everytime!

It's time for GWB to get up on primetime and pounce on these idiots while he is hot! Get more of the masses riled! Okay I'll call the Dumb B*tch now to get the #'s up!

Do you now just how big a personal insult it is for someone to accuse you of wanting to starve children, make old people die, and so on? I HAVE 5 kids. They don't starve. I did my best to take care of my mother, and we try to care for the mother-in-law too.

And it's really stupid for someone to say I want my water poisoned.

But, these people do it routinely, and then wonder why I react to thier words and plans with hostility. If they really think that of me, there's no way in heck I want them in any position of power over me.

Economic stimulus or just another trickle?

The economic security or stimulis package put forth by the republicans is just another give away or trickle down economic nothing devised by our Republican president to keep his ratings up. Nothing more. Just like his tax relief package,WOW,it really got the economy going didn't it?Trickle down Reganomics didn't work in the past and they surely won't work now.

All polticians suck but the( dam)acrots you got to love with a policy like theres, take from the working man. Turn around give it to some lazy butt who does'nt want a job. Are better yet be like Texas and be a net exporter of tax dollars. Which means our state sends more tax dollars to W. D. C. than they send back.

I was watching TV last night and someone was proposing that the Dems want to keep the economy in the dumper till next fall so that they can blame the bad economy on the republicans.

I lost my job as a result of the 9-11 attacks. I don't want more unemployment benefits. I want the ecomony strong and growing so that I can GET A JOB. Stimulate the economy and those who want to work will be able to.

The last thing the demos. want is economic recovery.

Bush is way to popular to suit them now; if the economy turns around, the demos are in real trouble next election. Their only hope is to scuttle the economy and blame it on Bush.

Many economic circumstances take a long time to come to fruition; Ragonomics worked VERY WELL; it had only one problem---the media buddies of the left managed to conn many into thinking that clintons programs were the cause. Ron Rs, programs just survived clinton and his cronies long enough for them to claim credit. We are NOW suffering the results of clintons work, and again the media idiots are shifting the blame away from clinton as they did with each of his goofs.

Repeat

Plug nickel

Republicans and Democrats are only the opposite sides of the same plug nickel. One side supposedly more conservative, the other supposedly more liberal.

Their only real purpose is to sow discord among the people.

They seem to do a pretty good job of it too!

What do we have to work with here in California?

Boxer

Feinstein

Capps

McConnell

This is what is meant by "Taxation without representation"

WOW DID YOU GET IT WRONG!

The problems we have today is from some really smart people who had no clue about the use of money. First you don't dump a 150 billion dollars into the internet Dot coms and think that wise spending is going on. Second it was that money that fueled much of the ultra growth in the mid 90's. However it was reagan that stopped inflation(carter anyone) and got the country investing. I think at the end of GWB term you will see solid growth that is sustainable. But before you knock Reagan and his tax cuts ask youself what you want a tax dollar to do. The more you want the more everyone has to pay... it isn't free. I think me and my wife pay way to much in taxes. 22K last year and 18-23k this year yes much of it was from capital gains... . but it all started out as my money and its now working so hard for me uncle sam wants his share. Dosen't seem fair.

Your posts are so insulting to intelligence, it's hard to be civil back... It is pure and unadulterated nonsense.

1. The cure to unemployment is... A JOB

2. JOBS are created by... The rich, the investors, the businessmen, the corporations. If you want economic growth, THEY CREATE IT. Handing out piddly checks to people while hamstringing thier prospective employers with taxes and other crap is so, SOOOO brain-dead.

3. Solid economic development is accomplished by investing, risking, and economic initiative, NOT by congress, but by those people who drive the economy... the producers, the businessmen, the risk-takers. This is why the Reagan prosperity lasted many years, and in the greatest technology boom to come along in many decades, Democrats created a recession. Instead of using our unparalled Reagan prosperity in the 80's and 90's, which put dependency down to microscopic levels to shrink and massively kill off these burdensome government pig troughs, they created vast new spending programs, and SPENT US INTO RECESSION.

4. Deficits are caused by spending more than you take in. It has nothing to do with a lack of revenue. It has to do with an over-abundance of spending. During the Reagan and Clinton years, federal income rose double-digit every year, and yet those fat liars in Congress told us they didn't have enough. Well, they took away and wasted enough to put us in the situation we have now... and you're here telling me that not only is that not the case, but if we took away even more, it would fix the problem...

5. "trickle down" arguments are an insult. It is expecting the person you're making them to be to so moronically stupid that they'll believe it.

Face it, it's nothing more than the dishonest lies made up in times past, and it has NO resemblance to reality.

Just answer these questions:

1. Where do jobs come from?

2. Where do paychecks come from?

3. Who creates jobs?

4. Who signs paychecks?

5. How much money does it take to create a job?

Let's expand on that... How much money does it take to create a truck-driving job? Let's see... What do trucks cost these days? Oh, yeah, a dispatching center... Insurance, license, fuel, taxes, and depreciation. And, they have to HAUL something, as well, so to get a fully true picture, you have to explore the transportation market - which is intrinsically linked to manufacturing, agriculture, retail sales and a whole lot of others, as well. By the time you add all those up, it costs well in excess of a 100,000 of investment by someone - a trucking company, an owner-operator, and / or others to create a SINGLE truck-driving job. And driving truck don't make you rich.

About 1990-1991, one of the largest small business organizations in the country did a study that they have been repeating every decade, and that was to determine how much capital it requires you to invest to hire someone. At that time, the average was $65,000.

It was 65K in equipment, building, advertising, or whatever the tools of your trade are. Some businesses were a little more, some a little less, but that was the average. Every last one of those 65,000 dollars was AFTER TAX dollars. Expansion is paid for either by investment by investors (with after tax dollars) - who then take an ever larger share of the profits - or by debt, which must be paid back in AFTER TAX dollars, or by accumulated cash, which again, is AFTER TAX dollars.

When my former boss hired the the person before me and the two after me, he did an analysis of what it cost to do so. He figured out it required he make well in excess of 100K profit - closer to 120K range, to have enough post-tax profit to hire someone. Lately, partly due to tax law changes, those numbers take several years to accumulate - and they've been spending it all trying to keep up with technology changes.

In the short version - there is no other means of stimulating economic expansion, which is what creates jobs - other than tax policy... Basically, cutting taxes and/or expensive regulations is the only means government has of stimulating solid economic growth. You can't have government HIRE people, because you have to take all that money they get PLUS the waste involved, from those who would be driving the economy. It is counter-productive. Extending unemployment, buying expensive health care, and other such spending programs have no effect either. Why? Again, you have to massively confiscate the very tool of expansion from those who would do it, to give to those who do not c reate economic expansion. And no, consumer spending does not create economic expansion.

Consumer spending can bankrupt us. Why? Because we can import everything they buy. That results in NO employment growth, NO investment. Instead, we need solid and fundamental economic investment (yeah, the rich dudes putting thier money at risk... that's the definition of it) in expansion causing enterprise. But you don't want that... No no no no... You demand we tax thier return on investment... So they don't invest, but instead, fund their retirements in the bond market. Little risk that way, but the return is steady.

Today, investing is a lose-lose situation. If you diversify, you cannot write off your losses from the losing investments to balance the gains from the ones that succeed. Nope. You pay taxes on those items that make you a profit even if you are losing money hand over fist. Thank you to your wonderful loving Democrats for that. At a time when we so desperately need risk-takers, we've killed the goose that laid the golden egg with tax policy.

And now you come to me and holler about "trickle down economics doesn't work". It is such a slap in the face... I am NOT that brain-dead stupid ,and I hope to God you are not either.

I think the less congress can do the better off we are :D I love it when they are dead locked and can't get anything accomplished. Like the saying goes "LESS IS MORE" I hope none of you really think that these guys and gals do things that are truely for everyones benefit. They alway add something that will help them get re-elected and those things cost us big $$$.

Darn Power Wagon...

Always beats me to the punch! Very well said. You did leave something off which is what the real numbers are.

50 percent of the wage earners pay 5 percent of the total income tax revenue. The top 50 percent pay 95 %. Now, who deserves a tax cut?

Remember the liberal socialist theme and motto:

SOCIALISM IS THE EQUAL DISTRBUTION OF POVERTY

Geez you sure read that idiot the riot act! I'm proud of you!

Ron in Helena, living off what I saved while I made a good living providing private businesses with the equipment which they purchased from money THEY made machining parts for aircraft, while providing high paying jobs which resulted from THEIR personal financial risks and created the healthiest economy since WWII. That being the REAGAN years. Whew.

I gotta tell ya folks some of us on this forum lack the maturation to be a Republican

Utopian wolves outnumber the sheep. Conservatives, by definition cannot win this war. It's not Dubya's fault, really. The utopian police state has a new allure for many aging boomers. When you add this particularly solipsistic and venal breed of parasites to the existing pool, you have a nasty brew. And it feeds on our liberty.

This election was an auction - and Al Gore almost won it. I winced when I heard Limbaugh, Medved, Coulter and company, trying to intellectualize the "mood of the country" --shaking their heads, asking where they went wrong with women. That's a no brainer. Just tell women you'll give them free day care, healthcare, and underwrite their poor choices with somebody else's money. They deserve it, and you're gonna give it to em.

But Democrats know politics is not principled. Its organized crime. For 9 years the GOP has been asking, "Where is the outrage"? What outrage? Democrats don't vote for piety. They don't vote FOR Democrats. They vote AGAINST Republicans.

So how do they do it? How do Democrats enjoy such loyalty from Anti-Republicans?

Well, it's a spoils system. A host/parasite paradigm. Anti-Republicans want more of what Republicans have, or hate what Republicans are, and will not conform to conservative expectations for citizens. So when the federal government steals 1. 7 trillion a year from us, Dems say --Good!

I said a few months back that a Bush presidency is at best a delusional token of old-style Republicanism, and perhaps a 4-year stay of execution for the last of our liberties, including the lonely concept that a tax refund is not an expenditure of government. One premise of a darker, leftist world is that all assets belong to the state, and if any monies are allowed to remain in the hands of their producers, the “costs” of such caprice should be fully examined. Collectivists are anguished over the “waste” of monies that will stay in private hands (people and business alike) should Bush cut taxes, thus cheating the safe-house of government, where dollars would be better spent on the greater good.

With the utopian Senate the transfer of wealth will continue. Dascle is from a strong farming state and still gets the vote to return and take away from the farmers more and more of their long term viability.

Motor voter, promise of craddle to grave handouts to 300 pound Compton queens, calling homesexuality "just another lifestyle", providing spoils to each noisy sect on the the left and you have the reasons we are facing the Democrat controlled Senate.

Repulicans cant compete in the giveaway wars with the Dems. Its against our belief systems. We clung to a tenuos majority for only a little while. There were so many net beneficiaries to the government spending and entitlements, that the parasites outnumbers the hosts. Combine that with the traditional social activists on the left, the aformentioned groups above and you have the makings of a New Amerika.

No stimulus for business and no jobs for Americans is just what the Dems want. Divide and conquer. Have us fight one another and not see the big picture of the Dems evil plague. They are legislating the laws of diminishing returns.

We need MORE laws, MORE egalite, MORE intrusions, and forfeitures. We are all guilty of something in Utopia, depending on who you are, whom you know, who loves you, hates you or fears you. The sooner we embrace the destructrive fantasies of the left the sooner we will become a socialist utopian society. Sick!

The Democrats are the party of laws, lawyers, judges, courts, bureaus, and government 'workers' that legislate and monitor everything we see, hear, eat, smell, and speak. They are the ones who "interpret" the constitution each time they need specific outcomes, because they operate the machinery of the beast, manufacturing whatever 'foundation' they require to quell noisy prudes on the right, and advance the cause of the state as guardian.

Dascle will continue the transfer of wealth from the "evil ones" to the needy Negresses without the cognitive abilities to make informed reproductive choices.

Hey PW... Great response !!

how about we start at the place where they [LIBs] did the Schools. They need 100% revamping and get back to basics and to the beliefs of our great nation. . not this socialistic crap they are laying out now. .

you need to see what comes into our business for employment interviews now days. . 200+ employees and I bet we have to go thru 20/25 people just to find a person to hire when we need replacements, and most can't even do simple math or even fill out the damn application correctly
