hey guys, got a new gray dash cover from lmc trucks, and notice there is no holes for the screws in the front. looked at covers on geno's looks like they have the holes already. should i drill the holes for bolts, it will be hard to mark the cover to know where to drill. cover is for 2001, thanks for any info.

I read whhere other members have drilled them oversize (bigger than the screw head) so that the can still access the screws in case they need to pull the dash for example a heater core repair. since the cover is glued to the original dash the screws are not needed to hold the cover down. Did you know Genos now sells a complete dash?

I seen geno's had the complete dash, the way i read it was a hard job & about 8 hr. Did not know where to start at, read some thread on tdr about cover only & it looks simple. I hope i made the right choice. Rcrosby

I wasn't questioning your decision was just letting you know they make a complete dash now. I've been lucky and my truck still has the original with no cracks. So I have no first hand knowledge, Having replaced a heater core I can confirm removing the dash is a big PIA.

I put one of the covers on mine from Geno's. It did not come with the holes and i didn't bother to drill them either. The cover fits pretty well. Just be sure to wiegh it down well and put something between the doors and cover where it hangs over the sides until everything sets up. Unless you are looking for it you would not know it has a cover on it. Randy

Got the new dash cover installed, it was very easy. The color is a little lighter. Butt still looks a lot better than the cracks.
