I noticed today that a large crack has appeared on the top of my dash. the truck is a 99 that I bought new and have owned 3 years this month. Anyone else have one that has cracked? Is this a warranty item? I would expect this on a 10 year old vehicle but not this soon.

Looks like a Florida or sunshine problem and why those JC Whitney dash covers are sold. I have never had a problem up here in the Seattle area. Moss, yes. George

No I think its a piece of sh$t problem. It should last longer than this. No thanks on the dash cover, I dont want carpet on my dash. I have learned to accept a new track bar and lift pump every 20k miles, but come on where does it stop? I really just wanted to know if anyone else has had this happen or if I am just lucky.

I looked at a lot of 95-97 trucks last year when trying to find mine and here in Texas we do have some sunshine but never a cracked dash did I see and I looked at a lot of trucks. If its still under warranty take it back for a new one, thats not normal.

I agree it's not normal, but I have heard of it, on the TDR no less. However, personally, I haven't had a problem with one and I've owned 3 dodge trucks since 1997, the first two of which were more than 3 years old when I traded them.

I hate to say it, but I'd take it to the dealership where I bought it and see if they could make it right for you.

Sorry about your luck.

HTH.
