2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission dash creak

about 3 months ago my dash started creaking and cracking when i hit bumps especially the glovebox, also the arm rests on the doors creak and crack when you put any pressure on them.

dealer told me that stuff isnt under warranty any more i have 40 k



does anybody have these same problems

fixes please i hate a noisy truck except engine and tires

My 96 has done the same thing for 3 years, especially when its warm out. Just take the turbo silencer out, straight pipe it or turn up the radio .

I seem to notice the noise more when the temperature rises, must be some mean old thermal co-efficient of expansion at work here.

Do you have the A/C on when you hear the creaking noise. On mine it sounds kike its near the steering column. It gets real bad when the A. C is on for a while. there was a tsb on it but i don't remember what it was. Senior moments. .

I have a bad creek to in the colmn, it seems to be real bad when my wheel is slightly turning left (which is all the time, (dam truck pulls right) but its worse at times then others. Maby its the AC I will have to check that out.
