98 12 valve. HELP, lost all my dash gauges. all droped down as if ignition switch was off. brake warning, abs and low fuel lites came on. Truck still runs the same. Thanks
Haven't looked at service manuall yet but I think the guages go thru the ignition switch. I would check igntion switch connector (loose/broken wires/pins) located on middle of steering colum.
The instrument cluster is powered through the ign. switch. It sounds as though there is an interuption in source power to them. Check your fuses first thing. There is one in the junction block for the instrument cluster.
OK,I mite have found the problem. pulled the panel off the bottom of the dash, tilted the wheel up and the gauges started working! I never use tilt so don't know why?? haven't found loose conection yet and can't make them stop working again. I hate wireing!!
OK,all gauges still working. trouble is alternator is not chargeing. had it tested and the man told me alternator needs power from the ignition angdI have none. anyone know what to look for or what wires to check?
