Couple winters ago, I would get the “DPF is 100% full” message every time I started the truck. As in, I would start the truck and run it til the “DPF empty” message appeared. I would immediately shut the truck off, wait a couple seconds and restart the truck. The “DPF is 100% full” message would come right back on. I could do this all day long with the same outcome. The truck would go into regen every time I did this. Brought the truck to two different dealers and neither could find anything wrong. You only get the dash indication when a normal active regen isn’t able to clean the DPF enough and it fills up to around 80%. This is usually only the case with excess idling, city driving, and short trips.
How many total hours and how many idle hours? How many miles on it?
If you get the dash indication you do need to drive it, preferably at 45 or above, for a good 20 minutes.
