I have noticed my Dash lights/dome lights and headlights flicker when my engine is running. When I park and turn the engine off the lights stop flickering. I checked every where for an obvious loose wire with no results. Has anyone else had this problem or any ideas of the causes???? Thanks for the help. John

You didnt say what year your truck is. there have been many problems with the head light switches. melting of wires and plug on the rear of the switch.

Sorry FourBarR, I have a 98 24V SLT Longbed with an automatic. I thought about the light switch, but I thought it was odd that all the dash "idiot" lights also flicker like the cruise control light, low fuel light, even the LCD lights for the radio and compass. It does with the head lights on or off. I'm severly scratching my head over this one.

I can see the dollar signs taking it in and have a shop search all week for a short. That is why I was hoping someone else had the same problem and figured it out. Any help would be great. Thanks. John

clean all the battery terminals-even if you think they are ok. Trace the battery grounds to block/frame check if clean & tight connections. Check the FSM for the location for the dash ground and check them also, etc. Check connections at Alt, etc... .
