Dash lights

My friends 2005 3500 dash lights intermittently go out. All dash lights quit working even the dash turn indicators. When the lights are working we haven't been able to shake, twist or vibrate anything to reproduce problem. All grounds retightened. Has anyone else had this problem and know the fix?

You'll probably have to take the truck to a dealer for this one. Apparently the instrument cluster has smarts of it's own and stores it's own codes, seperate from the ECM codes. Hopefully they can pull those codes and fix it.



My guess (worth exactly what you paid for it) is he'll need a new instrument cluster.
