Any one have this noise? It seems to be coming from the dash area. It almost sounds like a speaker that has an electric cracking noise. Or a cheap foam ice chest rubbing on itself. Turning off the radio, or down, makes no difference. Turn your speakers up and listen, its most noticeable when the truck transitions from asphalt to the concrete bridge. And back to asphalt coming off the bridge.

Can you post just the link or PM it to me so I can take a listen. I found that I have a squeak or something when i hit a bump from my center jump seat that goes away if i hold it in place so I am curious as to what your noise may be.

I cant even find it using the URL code. If you want to see it go to you tube and search for "dash noise" posted today by myself, Bill Berrigan.

I had a really annoying squeak that showed up at 2mo old on my 16.. Finally tracked it down, it was the manual 4x4 shifter rubbing up against the body.. Drenched it with some white lithium, has been gone for 1.5yrs.. Now, your 2500 truck mayyy not have a manual shifter, but if it does, hope this helps..

I don't wear my hearing aids when driving my truck; I can't stand all the miscellaneous racket. That being said I bought a mechanic's stethoscope at Harbor Freight and had my wife scope out a particularly irritating disturbance in the dash. She was able to isolate the noise and yes, it was caused by some of my own actions when adding a multitude of gauges, on-off switches, fuel pressure lines, etc. Now that I know what the noise is, I'm able to ignore it. Yes, I know all about fuel lines in the cab, but I don't care for troublesome isolators, and this is a work truck, not my Sunday go to church special.

I hard an irritating squeak in my center console. It developed after about a year and a half. Then when I installed my unagoose fifthwheel hitch, i guess it stopped the frame from flexing and it went away on it's own. It was in tje plastic down by the base of the g56 shifter.

Bill, I had this same sounding noise occasionally, on cold mornings....drove me nuts. I managed to fix it with a little "Brockman" type engineering....:-laf My noise seemed to be coming on the passenger side, around the defrost vent. At the lower corner of the dash, where the dash and the top of the kick panel meet. Took a small block of wood and a rubber mallet, on the lower corner of the dash, a couple of love taps to "adjust" that side of the plastic dash area. Been two years and it hasn't come back......

Thanks Sam I will give that area a good hard look. This weekend I will have the wife drive it while I am in the passenger seat and see what I can find. Sounds like Brockman has a good supply of pry bars and hammers. You two must be buds?

Press here -- if the rattle goes away (like mine did), put a little pure silicone lubricant on something like a very thin rag and get some into the incredibly small gap there. Those teo pieces of plastic in very close proximity make what sounds like a dash rattle in mine.

As I mentioned, a $5 mechanic's stethoscope from Harbor Freight will allow to you locate the problem before a cat can lick it's XXX.
