Dash pod just arrived, a few observatons

Installed my Di Procol gauges about 6 weeks ago, but they have been resting in a board, as the dash pod was back ordered. Well it came today, and it is not quite perfect.



The pod is made by or for Autometer and the D. P. EGT gauge is bigger than the other 2 (boost and transmission). I was not willing to wait and send it back, as I am not even sure who else makes one. 20 minutes of grinding away with a spindle sander and it fits well. It goes almost tight to the windshield and fits between the defrost vents. It has a really long over hanging visor to keep glare off the windshield, that may be akward for really tall folks. I am 6-1 and it almost obscures the top of the gauge, but seems like it will be fine for me.



You do have to drill the dash, both for mounting screws and a larger hole for all of the wires. Be sure to drill the gig hole over a small void below to keep from pinching the wires and boost hose.



Over all I am happy with it, but don't expect the DP egt to drop right in. I assume Auto meters (or any other 2 1/16 gauge will fit fine. My DP is almost 2. 25".

I am installing mine today with the triple dash pod... I got the autometer 'ultralights' boost, EGT, and trans temp... I'll let you know how it goes.

You're going to think I am crazy, but it has happened to other customers of ours before so here goes!!



Did you remove the plastic sleeve off of the DI pyro? It will make the pyro just about 2. 25 inches if it's not removed and will make you wonder what the H_ _ _ is going on for sure. It's a full round sleeve that is held on with two plastic round threaded hold down nuts. The DI pyro is slightly larger than the other DI gauges but it's only a few thousandths of an inch, I usually use 180 grit paper for about 30 seconds and it slides right in any of the Auto Meter mounts. I am real interested to knwo what you find as we just got our second shipment of the Auto Meter dash top 3 gauge mounts in and want to get feed back from users if they like the mount too!



You should have a 1 3/4 inch deep full circleby 2 3/16th round piece of white plastic laying around somewhere if you removed it. Let us know what you find, curiosity is killing me.

No i did not remove the sleeve, it looked permanent. I am sure it would have eliminated my problem. it's permanent now, any problem with that?
