Does anybody have any pictures of the replacement dash top that Geno's Garage sells. Are there any pro's or con's with the product. I got to do something pretty quick. my dash has cracked so bad it is latterly caving in on itself

i do not have any pictures handy, but i will tell you it is made very well and looks great. i wish i would have bought it sooner. it fits so well that i have not even velcro'd it down. it just stays there with the windows open and everything.

I with you jerrywallace. My dash looks like I have been in a head on collision. Some pics would be nice. It would sure help me make my mind up on purchasing one.

and i thought my dash was the only one that looks like godzilla stepped on it! damn shame, so how bout that info on genos product???

Is this what your talking about? If it is, I've had had one on my '97 since it was new and have one on the '05. This one is a Dashmat and mine cost $46. 90 delivered. It works great and it's half of the velcro system. With just a little piece of the hook side of velcro you can stick just about anything to it and remove it easily. I've had a cell phone( on the wife's side ) a radar detector, a gps, a XM reciever and a garage door opener. Don't have anything on the new truck now, everything has a place of it's own.

For under $50 it sure makes resale of the truck a little easier.

Got one like dhill has pictured to protect my dash from sunlight while I had to live in an apartment and no garage. Fits pretty good and when I discussed it with Genos before the purchase, they did advise that it was not a perfect fit versus the molded ones , but was less money and has worked as they said (in my experience Genos gives real world recommendations and advise!!!!).

Only issue was the glue holding the velcro to the dash gets soft and slips when outside temperatures reached a 100*. The glue on wide angles mirrors I added to the outside mirrors also fell off during the heat, SO????

if you do a search you will find plenty of other people with cracked dashes. there were a few years were the material was not up to standards... ... ..... we are some of the lucky ones with the bad dashes.

cracked dash

Jerry, have you ever used Amorall? (sp?) i once had a vinyl repair tech tell me that this stuff made him several thousand dollars in extra income per year!! This stuff will accelerate the deterioration of vinyl. (the sun literally leaches the moisture from vinyl) i have seen people use lemon juice cut w/water without any visible problems over a 3 or 4 year time frame. I just clean mine when doing the inside of the windshield, same paper towel.
