I've got the wood grain pieces on the dash and doors. I'm not a wood grain person- Mopar lists an aluminum trim kit but with no P/N given.

I'd consider popping the pieces off and painting them or applying vinyl and reinstalling- anyone know how these pieces come off?

anyone know of some worthy kits?

I do want to avoid the thick stick on kits that are obviously "add ons" that look like a bad fingernail job.

I'd be all for the aluminum trim but I agree the stick on stuff doesn't look good. By the description of the Mopar parts they stick on. :( I'd like a replacement dash panel out of some 6061 aluminum. That way I could weld accessories to it such as a gauge pod or cup holder. :p

I caught just the tail end of a show on the Speed channel the other day. I think it was a piece on the SEMA show. Don't know if it was a re-run or not.

Anyway... when I tuned in they were at the Husky Liner booth showing off the dash trim kits. It just so happened they were showing the "aluminum" dash and door kit installed on a Ram. I think it was a 2002 1500 but the door and dash looked exactly like my '03 3500.

It was only TV but it looked pretty sharp. Here's the site for the dash systems:

It only shows a 1998 Ram with Regal Burl wood, but like I said the show had and aluminum look too.
