I love my mega-dually. It's rock steady when towing. I think the short bed fender flares look better than the long bed versions. They hug the wheels better and sit lower on the fender
for a less hunched-up look. I bought mine mainly to tow around 10k when I retire. I did not get 4x4 because it adds an extra 600 lbs to the curb weight
(figured by comparing the weights shown in the brochure for 2x4 and 4x4 in the same truck). This is subtracted from the available cargo capacity. It won't go off road and being careful makes more sense to me than counting on the 4x4 to save me when I screw up and get stuck. The truck sits lower in front, steers better (rack and pinion vs recirculating ball) and I don't need to haul around and maintain all that extra hardware. Mine has a 10,500lb GVWR on the door tag. I had the Arizona DOT re-rate it to 9900. Below 10k the licencing and weight fees are different (cheaper) and the extra 500 lb or so isn't important to me. My . 02 worth.
