I am getting ready to set my truck level and am wondering why the Daystar spacers and the Skyjacker springs are priced so similarly??



I would MUCH rather have springs. But are the Skyjacker springs of acceptable quality, and what should I expect from them? Better ride? Handling? Both?

Either/Or are both acceptable ways for lifting your front end. It really boils down to personal preference. I've always had skyjacker coils, but they have always had my truck a tad bit nose high. I still have my coils out of my original 97 which had sagged a bit... . be toying with the idea of selling my D25's to a buddy and putting some spacers on top of those old coils to get an actual LEVEL stance. :confused:
 
Certainly not what I was hoping to hear... :(



My truck already sits lower in the rear than most of its kind. As I have a heavy pipe bumper and class 5 receiver hitch, that and I lack over load springs which I hear add about 1/4 of an inch to the rear height...



I want the KORE Pace kit, but I need to spend money on beefing up the poor slush box.

I have ridden in trucks with both setups. Skyjacker springs are very much superior to aspacer and a stock spring. Ride and control are improved.



Also, adding anything to the top of the springpack such as overload springs do NOTHING to add to ride height. Best bet would be D25s up front and a no rate full length add a leaf to the rear or better yet, firestone bags. A little air (10-15psi) will raise the rear approx 1 inch.



If you are missing the overloads, this may be the best option for down the road use if you plan on hauling heavy.

I don't want air bags, as I need the truck to flex in off road situations and I hear air bags can limit rear flex.



If I was to go with a spacer setup, I would get some springs from a 3G for ride quality.



So I am thinking: D25 Springs

Bilstein 5100 Shocks

And some kind of add a leaf???

Another suggestion would be a custom rear block that replaced the existing one. Although, any time you increase the distance from the spring pack to the spring, you will be adding to the axle wrap problem.

If you add to the rear spring rate, it's not going to help articulation offroad. You could run bags and just deflate them offroad.
 
I'm interested in this as well. I'd like to lift my front end only slightly as I want to keep the factory rake. Does anyone make a spacer kit in the 1. 5" range?
 
I would much rather have the springs over poly spacer any day. I have herd way to many stories about guys with the spacers having deathwobble.
 
A couple of things to keep in mind here also with the D25 coils as compared to the spacer kit. They ride a bit stiffer than the spacers and Skyjacker is nortorious for their very poor powdercoating of their products. Meaning they turn pink after a few years of outside sunlight contact and if you paint them it voids any warranty claims with them..... Andy
