Daytime running light computer flash

When the dealer does the computer flash to give you the daytime running lights do the dash lights dim like they do when you use the dash switch to turn them on?

On the 3rd gen there is no flash needed for drl,it is only enabling. Yes the dash lights work normally.

The software in the ECM stays the same, the guy just goes in with the scanner and clicks on yes for DRL. 2 minute job.

Maybe a good time for other changes, like high idle enabled.

Not to hijack. but I have to take my truck in today for a P0191. I would also like the hi-idle and daytime lights what do I need to ask for to make sure they know. They are boneheads at my dealer.

I posted a thread a few days ago on the options available from the StarScan computer.



To recap,



Enabling hi-idle.

From the StarScan home screen, select ECM VIEW

Select PCM

Select MISC OPTIONS

Select HI IDLE ENABLE

Select START on the right side of the screen and follow the directions.



Enabling DRL.

From the StarScan home screen, select ECM VIEW

Select TIPMGCW

Select MISC OPTIONS

Select DRL ENABLE

Select START on the right side of the screen and follow the directions.
