There are after market kit to do this ,not sure if they are available for o7 or not . I did it on an earlier vehicle before they were installed by the factory. If you are in the usa that may be a problem getting it there. The Canadian Tire Stores in Canada would have them. Hope this is of some help.

DRL can be activated by the dealer using the star scan tool.

they will become active when the country code is set to "canada"

good luck.

Dealer

I had mine turned on by the dealer. They kinda looked at me like I was crazy to want them on, but they did it anyway. Bruce

Does anything else change when the country code is changed? I wanted to have mine turned on for the insurance discount on the 06. My 01 has them because it was a Canadian truck. 05 and earlier trucks can just turn them on without changing the country code.

I THINK, that if you have the dealer change your country code to US, then the DRL will be off. the digital odometer might well read in miles then, if it's Kms now.

good luck

It's funny. A friend moved back to the US from Canada and had to have her vehicle modified so the DRL didn't work. Yet when Canadians bring a vehicle into Canada we have to have DRL. Both countries state safety reasons for this??? Shadrach

It's funny how both governments can come to such a different conclusion about the same thing. Makes you wonder who and how these things are decided on. Remember that the further north you go, the shorter the day lights hours in winter, longer days in summer.

I wonder if transport canada could statisically prove that DRL have reduced accidents over the years we have had them.

What am I saying?????, any government can prove anything they want to.

Oh well.

Goverment:rolleyes:, USA is required to have DRL on motorcycles so we can see them better, yet says no to DRL on cars and trucks.

My service manager also looked at me like I'am nuts when I asked them to turn on my DRL. My son works for Chrysler as a diesel mechanic so we just done it anyhow.
