I have been looking through my owners manual again and saw something about daytime running lights, but can't find out if I'm suppose to have them. I do know that they don't come on if I have them, but can't find out if they need some action to activate them at Dodge dealer. I phoned a service department but they couldn't tell me anything about them and transferred me to the sales department to see if salesmen might be able to shed some light on the subject, (no pun intended) but I was sent to voice mail and haven't received a return call yet. I intend on installing a set if I don't have any. Does anyone that has knowledge on this subject?

They don't have them, if you go to the EVIC, hit setup you will see what you have and don't, they do have lights on with wipers

The dealer should be able to turn them on. Although my 08 isn't exactly the same the dealer turned them and high idle using cruise conrol on when I bought truck.

I talked to a Guy I know who once was a Dodge Tech, He said the Dealer can turn them on using the StarScan, it is located in the Export section.

Went to dealer and they hooked up truck to their tool to turn on lights, but came back in a few minutes and told me that option was no longer there. I will be adding some soon.

Go find another dealer!! I have had them turned on in every Dodge product I have owned. My 05, 08, 10, and my 2012 Durango. I had them turned on in my in laws 11 Durango. You dealer's service department is not very knowledgeable, find another dealer.

An easy work around is to find a small lotion cap or something similar and put it over the little dome in the center of your dash. Then move the light switch over to automatic.

RonD and Hoefler Thanks!! I went to another dealer and told them how to find and turn on the daytime driving lights. The truck came back in a few minutes with the light on.
Thanks again,
Don

I noticed something interesting about DRL's on the Ram today, perhaps some of you are aware of it. There was a 5500 tow truck following me today that had the DRL's enabled. When the directionals are operational, the light on that side is momentarily extinguished to (I assume) make the directional more visible.

Yep, I owned a GM SUV with DRL and the headlights would go off when the turns signals were in operation. When the headlight switch was on the headlights were unaffected when the turn signals were in operation.

Gotta ask here, because I used this info/thread to try to get the DRL's turned on in our 2011 2500 and the service department told us they could only do it if they "converted" the truck to Canada specs.

Can anyone perhaps provide kind of a step by step direction I can go with to get this resolved and the DRL's enabled here?

Appreciate any assistance here.....

Have a good one folks.

Contact a different dealer, yours is either lazy or just plain stupid!

That's why I need step by step, I had to do this with an older Ram dealing with tire size... . itsa nusiance, but once lead by the nose they either respect you a bit more or run for cover when you show up...

Was is past tense, things do change year to year. The star scan will not work since '08

that being said I have not looked yet to see if DRL is an option on the 12s
