The same hood for the Daytona and SRT10 but I'm going to assume the intake is a working intake on the Daytona and it would be different than the SRT10.

Anyone have any clues? Does it use a similiar airbox as the CTD?

It would be so great if it used the same airbox but a different box cap for a real air plenium, a couple of parts and the CTD is ram air... ... ... . no such luck huh?

I seen a Daytona passing by a dealership today... ... ... it looked like it has a different scoop insert. Looked like a wire mesh insert but I was moving too fast to be sure.

I'm pretty sure the Daytona scoop is NON-functional. I think it's blocked off.

You're absolutely right. I stopped and check one out today. The scoop grill is the same as a SRT10 but has no openings, completely sealed.

The one I looked at was 4x4 but still looked like a 2WD with 20"s.

They should have made them all wheel drive.

They advertise it as a "real" hood scoop, what you say sounds fake. You saw a 4x4 Daytona?

I thought all the 4x4 1500's were all wheel drive now.

The Daytona I seen was 4x4 with a t-case shifter on the floor, 2hi/4hi/N/4lo.

All wheel drive isn't really the same as 4x4. All wheel drive uses a viscous coupler in the t-case differentiate power transmission as needed. It leaves no option of hi/lo or rear/all drive. Some vehicles will engage 4 all the time for snow like the Inf FX series.

4x4 is obviously selectable but when it's engaged atleast one front wheel has power.

And yes, the Daytona scoop insert is non-functional. It looks the same as the SRT except the openings are molded closed, a simple mold revision for DC. The scoop insert could be used for the rainy season SRT hood users. I think they use the word "real" as opposed to the stick-on sport scoop.

But hey, look on the bright side... ... it doesn't know it's a truck :-laf

Interesting. . I only asked about the 4x4 thing cuz I thought a year or so ago the 1500's went to AWD and dropped 4x4. Making it an option and keeping 4x4 was a good move.

Too bad about the scoop. . back to the drawing board.
