With all this computer stuff on the 600 is it worth getting DC's extended wnty or just stick with the 3/36000? I also have the auto trans.

The computer stuff is exactly whi I did get the extension, diagonistics alone can take a big bite out of your money. It's gone beyond the average wrench turner that I think I am.

Depends on a lot of things, such as if you plan on bombing, how long you plan on keeping the truck, etc. I got the ext. warranty on mine because I do not plan on bombing, and intend to keep the truck for a long time. One other thing to keep in mind is that the ext. warranty covers a lot of the DC weak links - AC evaporators, front end parts (no idea how well the 3rd gens will hold up compared to the 2nd gens yet), etc.

Will be picking up my new 04. 5 in a few weeks, so I have a few questions when it comes time to close the deal.

How much is the extended warranty??

What about this oil change package they sell, a good deal or not?

Were you able to beat them down on the price?

From my personal experience ususally it is not a good deal for the consumer to get extended warrantys... . but for the right price, I guess they could be of value.

I kept my last truck for 30 years so both the extended warranty and the oil change lube pkg. were a good deal for me. I'm not sure what the extended warranty cost me but the oil pkg. was $540 for as long as me or my wife live, every 3 months or 3K miles up to four times a year. I have always run synthetics but at three gal. a change plus filters I couldn't pass. Larry

I got the 7 year 100K $100 ded. service contract for $1995. Retail is about $2300. If I never use it, I'll still be happy.

I always get the D/C warranty. It doesn't take many trips to the service department to pay for it and if you are on the road, your trip would not be quite as ruined:( .

On the DC wnty, do they really stand by it with no hassel? or do they come up with reasons why your not covered? I have heard stories like this ,so I am leary of buying it, but to get 30% off I have to make up my mind today. We picked up our new 600 yesterday and my wife loves it so much that I haven't got to drive it yet.

It has been my experience that they have stood by it, I really don't see how they cannot. I have been at the service department when folks have tried to get "brand x" honored without success.

just got a price for it. 7yr/85000 mile added care for 990. 00

7yr/85000 maxie care 1410. 00 From what he was saying the added care covers most stuff that cost the big bucks. Am thinking 7yr/85000 because my wive will be using as a daily driver and thats about the milage on her car worked out.

i got the 2 year ext dc warranty on my used ram (95) at 1500 (the highest coverage) with a $50 ded, and it has paid for its self 3 times already
