A very interesting Message Board...with some idiots posting...

Trans Problem? Her Truck.

Called my flt. mgr. last week after GM announced special financing incentives and told him I'd buy a new truck if DC matched. (Been waiting for '03) He said that change would come in a few days when the current program ended. Well it's here, and nothing special on Ram p/u or Caravan. (Viper I can almost understand) Now I know that their incentives have been fairly good up to this point, but I would think that a company on it's last year before a model update, and with an underpowered (ON PAPER) diesel engine would consider some special incentives on the Ram p/u. I know that the new 1500's are out, what better way to get them started. How many 2500/3500 buyers have decided to wait for '03 rather than buy an '02? I think that DC missed the boat here.

Want some cheese with your whine? Actually there is a $2,000 rebate on 2001's and I have been told that sometime before the 2003's come out there will most likely be a rebate on the 2002's depending on how well the 2002's sell. Since there are a reduced number of 2002's being made this year it is possible there will be no rebates on the 2002's.

I just bought the 2001 because of the rebate. The 2001 is exactly the same as the 2002 and I would not be too surprised if the 2003's go up in price more than we have become accustomed to.

And, greeetings to you from an ex Orting resident!~

When our ordered 2002 3500 came in the first part of August, I was amazed that there was already a $1,000 rebate on it. I certainly wasn't expecting it, so I can't complain. :)

By the way, hard as it might be to believe, some of us are intentionally purchasing these junky old, obsolete, underpowered 2002 Ram 2500's and 3500's because we don't want to do the first year R&D on the 2003 heavy duty Rams. Been there & done that too many times when I drove brand F!
