My DC plug is so loose, its going to fall-out. I've never taken the dash apart befor. I'm sure one of you guys out there have done this. I have a 97 4x4 slt 2500 club cab. I have that plastic rose-wood around the dash. I need to get info on how to reach the DC-utility plug located on the top part of the dash befor something shorts out back there.

Mine is a 96 but should be the same. Remove 2 screws holding the drink holder in and ditto the ash tray. The plastic rim that goes all the way around the main panel just pulls off, use your fingers and pull towards you, just a bunch of little spring clips slid into holes is all that holds it on. takes maybe 5 minutes if you are slow. Every thing else is easy to see how it comes apart.
One of the greatest improvments on the newer trucks, no more upside down under the dash.
Good Luck
John

My '97' is the same way. I recently had to tighten up my fog light switch, piece-o-cake.
