What's your thoughts on DC running boards? How time consuming is the installation?
How do you like the NW mud flaps?

Looking to accessorize my 2001. 5 ETH/DEE, should it ever show up. Charter member of the waiting club. Truck is in the DC black hole of D1 status.

I like the Warn running boards best, but they like the rest of them ,are too expensive,I guess you get what you pay for. What's nice about the Warns is that they come off with just two pins, great for serious off roading.

I had Running board on my 85 F-250 6. 9 diesel. I didn't really care for them. Reduced ground clearance. #ad
I optioned for stainless steel Nerf Bars on my 99 QC and really like them. #ad

Northwest Custom Mud Flap are the only way to go. #ad
Wish I would have known about them before I bought my Pro-flaps. #ad

Yes they are considered expensive. I had them on my 99 Quad Cab,# 12 of the runningboards in the accessories catalog. They came color matched to the truck, they mounted solid and too be honest,I could not find any other that were as solid. Ive installed quite a few different brands in my years in the automotive trade.

Got the molded DC boards for my 01. Dealer gave me a nice break. Took three hours to install but the fit is great and they are solid. Color match is perfect and they are functional guards for rocks, tar... because of the integral guard on the front. Had DC on my 98 also. Liked them. Made it real easy to reach over in the tool box.

Due to a time restraint when my wheels arrived, I had Mopar boards and mud flaps installed by the dealer. The DC accessories fit our needs and were our choice after looking at a lot of other rigs and visiting local shops carrying accessories.

I got the molded running boards in black. The boards, as already stated, are solid and do a good job of protecting the sides. This compliments the black horizontal trim on the sides on the metallic red(which I believe the new wheels don't have). Being black they tend to blend with the rigs shadow making them a tad less obvious. I saw a rig like mine with the color matched boards and thought it pretty sharp as well. If I did it again, it would be a difficult choice only in color.

I have the rubber staight hanging mud flaps. Nothing to write home about in appearance. Since I tow, I wanted more coverage than the molded rear flaps appeared to provide.

The fun is just begining, Blue Goat.

Take a look at www.starboards.com
Perfect color match and they are really solid. Have had a set of them on my 99 for about a year and they look like the day I installed them.

Blue Goat,
This is a good example of "you get what you pay for" , Iv'e got a set of the moulded mopars on my truck and they are well worth the premium price you will pay!! Put 'em on myself about 3 hours, lots of parts but very solid. I think the whole kit weighed about 140 lbs so you know there is a lotta meat in there. I high centered on 'em once, just a little scratch on the rubber and no readjustment necessary . I needed to use the 4 wheel drive to drag myself off and left a pretty good trench behind,so I didn't just bump the boards. Surely a lesser product would have been mangled--You get what you pay for-- most of the time anyway #ad

Self installed goodies,
OEM Running boards,Mud flaps&Bed liner, Tinted windows,Jacobs E-Brake,BD Torque Loc. Whimpy stock class 4?? hitch fell off-replaced it with a Super Hitch(1200# tongue,15000# trailer) on the house from DC thanks for the recall!!

Installing-Trailer brake controller.

Next-BD Pressure loc and one of those really cool mag hytec transmission pans.

I have the DC diamond plate running boards and matching rear flaps. Like them very much, thought long and hard about it. Total cost was just under $200 at local dealer, could probably beat that price now with online sources. Main reason I went with dc is that of all brands I looked at, these require drilling the least amount of holes in the truck, 3 holes per side at front fender flap area, 2 under cab. Rear flaps can use the existing fender liner holes. I highly reccomend them.
