I'm about ready to leap to the "dark side"... . or the "right side!". Anyway, I have my gauges installed, and I'm scheduled to have a DTT TQ and VB installed by Bill K. , and I'd like to do some upgrades... . From all I've read and the recomendations I've received, I thinking about going with DD 2's and a PE EZ. For those guys who have this combination, how do you like it? Any other words of advise? Also, I've heard that it's a good idea to have your ECM reflashed to acomodate the add'l fuel flow... any thoughts? Has anyone had this done? I've heard that it helps from keeping the CTD from stalling? I've never read/seen a post on this. Just currious, thanks in advance for your help, -Ken

I have stage 2's and EZ. I like the power and love the smoke. I think living at 5000+ feet makes it smoke a little more than it would for you. My truck has never stalled and have never herd of that do to the ECM. I dont think the ECM needs to be reflashed. Only thing you would need to be carful with is you lift pump (fuel pump) They are not very good and have a hard time keeping up with the flow at WOT.

You will love this combo and when you need more (YOU WILL) you can go with marco's MAD ECM and piers turbo.

I will have to agree with the above, the power is amazing, if you are going to be pulling anything this is agreat setup, you will be lifting at the tops of the hills to slow down. I have never had a problem with EGT's and the 4" exhaut lowered it even more, highest of 1350 on long hill. But with the Hy-35 I don't know what you will get. Great setup til you need more.

My Dad has the exact setup,dd2's,ez,and a 91% DTT convertor and VB. It is a strong setup,I had to put an additional spring on the wastegate on his puny HY35 turbo,I got the boost up to 25 psi from 19 stock. At 19psi the dd2's smoked like a freight train,at 25 psi, they smoke only off boost, then quickly it clears up to only a tiny haze. His fule mieage is slightly better than stock still.

Snow man -

What kind of EGT's is your dad seeing? Does he tow heavy with this setup? The fact that he is still using the HY35 with both an EZ and DD2s would make me think that EGT's would be through the roof with a heavy load.

I'm running the EZ, 91% DTT, and have upgraded to an HX35/12 turbo. Considering the DD2s to help with some turbo lag created by the new turbo. I often pull between 10k and 12k and am always concerned about EGT's. I've thought about putting the HY back on to improve spool-up, but installing some bigger injectors (DD2s) seems like the best route. Thanks.

He doesnt pull with it much, when he does it is only 5K lbs. His EGT's were high until I bumped up the boost,he was able to push 1400 if he stayed in it for any lenth of time, after i bumped up the boost,it stayed under 1300 unless you stayed in it at high speeds, which he doesnt do. The EGT guage just quit this week,I think the pyro went south, the boost part of the combo guage still works,we are going to be pulling a small boat to canada, tomorrow, now we have no EGT guage,Im not liking it at all. Funny how things quit after a year of non towing, the week we want to pull the guage quits.
