I e-mailed DD today to find out how their boost module works. I couldn't understand why they would change the signal of the MAP sensor until it reached the max boost point. Apparently some of the assumptions about it were incorrect.

Basically, the DD boost module reports back the stock output of the MAP sensor until it sees the 21psi limit being exceeded. At that point it caps the output, not allowing the fueling to be limited. In other words it leaves the computer alone. It simply prevents the overboost defueling.

They were aware that some people have reported a loss with the module alone. In their opinion, this is due to variables in testing. As for me, I have never tried one. Has anybody shown a loss with the module alone on a dyno? Just curious.

This is not to take anything away from the module Larry spoke of. It seems to do the same thing as the DD for less money. I was just curious about how the DD worked, and I didn't want to count them out without the facts.

By the way, DD has a discount this month on stage two and three injector/boost module packages. The details are on their web site. I just ordered one!

Note my signature below. I added the DD Boost Module AFTER all the other performance modifications were added. With JUST the addition of the DD Boost Module I noticed a very condiderable seat of the pants power increase! The module released the fuel that DC wanted to keep me from enjoying. It may have cost $300. however, the performance increase made it WELL worth the money! #ad

The ONLY way to confirm the function of this boost module. . and to close this issue is to get a Module on a Bench with a VARIABLE DC Power supply and a Volt meter on the opposite side of the module. .

Allowing a component variability of @ 5% we should see The same voltage going into the module as comes out of the module. .

Up to the 2. 0 volt cutoff point. .
at that point as the power going into the module approaches 3. 0-3. 5 volts the volt meter should shor a constant 2. 0V. .

I KNOW the Practical Solutions module does this. . but someone else will have to test the DD to confirm it.

There should be NO Reason to go higher than 3. 5 volts. . I wouldn't think this voltage would hurt anything inside the DD module...
It would be best to open it up though to confirm the values of the components used. .

I. E. . If the components are larger than 5%tolerance... BINGO on why some found a performance drop on a stock truck.
