Attention: TDR Forum Junkies I e-mailed DD today to find out how their boost module works. I couldn't understand why they would change the signal of the MAP sensor until it reached the max boost point. Apparently some of the assumptions about it were incorrect.
Basically, the DD boost module reports back the stock output of the MAP sensor until it sees the 21psi limit being exceeded. At that point it caps the output, not allowing the fueling to be limited. In other words it leaves the computer alone. It simply prevents the overboost defueling.
They were aware that some people have reported a loss with the module alone. In their opinion, this is due to variables in testing. As for me, I have never tried one. Has anybody shown a loss with the module alone on a dyno? Just curious.
This is not to take anything away from the module Larry spoke of. It seems to do the same thing as the DD for less money. I was just curious about how the DD worked, and I didn't want to count them out without the facts.
By the way, DD has a discount this month on stage two and three injector/boost module packages. The details are on their web site. I just ordered one!
