I got my injectors(IIM) and DD boost module the other day. I decided to try the boost module by itself. Things to note: I have 4inch exhaust and a stock DC air filter and engine. The truck was driven unloaded.
Around town, I saw no loss or improvement in performance. The truck felt exactly the same. This is what I expected. Then I got on the interstate. It could be my imagination, but at WOT on some hills that I am familiar with, the truck seemed to run stronger. Without the module, boost maxed out at 19-20psi and the truck wouldn't accelerate as fast. What I mean to say is it kept gaining speed, but not at the same rate. With the module, the truck didn't miss a beat. I had to lift my foot before the top. However, this is just a seat of pants response. I'm going to try to borrow a G-tech and play with the module on and off. However, I can say in my case that my truck didn't loose power.
Other notables. Before the module, I could hit 20psi, but it was very hard. After the module, I could easily hit 24-25psi. When I was pulling the hills, I hit 28psi a couple of times. Also, in 17K miles I had never seen the filter minder move. After one brief run with the module, it moved about 1/3 of the way down. It is safe to say that with injectors, I will probably need a different filter. Lastly, after driving with gauges for a while, it kind of freaks you out to see the boost gauge just spin right up past 20. I loved it.
