I,m getting the itch to increase my BOMB factor with some bigger injectors. I have 2 concerns:

1) I do not much like smoke
2) I want my cruise control to work properly

How bout some feedback from you fellas with the DD2s and DD3s?

Refer to my Sig for current mods.

Thanks,
Russ

i have the DDII's on my 2000 3500 4x4 QC auto. Works great, no more smoke than stock and cruise works perfect! The only other thing i have is a K&N and guages, rest of truck is stock.

Russ,
Don't quote me on this, but it seems DD's injectors have been improved over the past year or so. The 2nd generation or newer ones don't smoke like the ones made 2 years ago.

Just an observation I have read in the forums.

I will be ordering Stage 3's soon. #ad

You can expect more smoke with a combination of box and big injectors. Even the "little" 275 hp Bosch injectors will show more smoke when combined with a box, like your hot PE, than they do alone, or the box does alone. That is where driving by foot comes in #ad

By themselves (boost module only), DD3s give only a puff when taking off with lots of pedal. Rest of the time, no visible smoke (at least none I could see).

With DD2's and EZ, the smoke is controllable with judicious pedal movement. Nail it, and it lays a good cloud, but it sure launches hard. This more than makes up for the additional smoke.

Running DD3's and the DD Torque Module(EZ). With the DDTM set in the middle setting(fuel in @ 20psi) little to no smoke. With the box set so fuel comes in at low boost... LOTS of smoke. With either setting cruise control works perfect.

With Bully Dog stage III's and the EZ on setting one, most aggressive, I have very little smoke unless I really step on the go pedal with low boost. Otherwise, smoke is a non issue for me. As stated above, I think that smoke will be an issue for you with either stage II or III injectors if that "hot" PE is turned up and at low boost. It's more a matter of either turning that PE down a notch for everyday driving or adjusting how much you get into it before the boost is up IMHO.

I have the DD3s and the DD TTPM set to: fuel in at 20 psi boost. That combination makes A LOT of power with very little smoke. VERY LITTLE! In addition, I have NO cruise control problems. #ad

CSCPusher - Boy am I glad to hear to you enjoy your DD2's. I told ya that them things were Potent... LMAO

I also am running the DD2's and EZ. With the EZ on the middle setting (at 5300ft elevation), I can leave a good cloud of smoke off the line but once the boost builds up... . no more smoke. Boy do I love my DD injectors.

No smoke with DD TTPM on setting 2. Just lots of power.
