Here is my dilema, I just installed my DDII's and love the power but I was sure that I would get more than 32psi with them and my box. (see Signature) That is all I can get on low setting @40 hp on the box alone then the injectors on top of it I thought would produce more like 36 to 40 psi. Maybe I was thinking wrong or was expecting too much but I hope not in a way, I want more boost! With an EZ and DDII's what should boost be? I am thinking of changing to an EZ and selling or trading my JVD box.

And finally would my 235hp injectors work in my dad's 98. 5 auto? If so would there be a noticeable difference? Thanks for any help! Dshawhan

Boost w/DDII's

My '99 ETC with DDII's and EZ on setting 3 gets 28 psi max on a good day... I'd like to have your extra 4lbs!

dshawhan,

32 psi sounds pretty good. I've never seen more than 34-35 psi with the Pmax3 set on kill. Unless mine is low:confused:

I can't help you out on the DD2s issue but I can tell you that with Bosch 275's I see 30 lbs on the 1st level and 34 lbs on level 3. I have the blue box which has 4 levels. I gained a solid 2lbs of boost when switching to a Jardine 4" exhaust. Hope this helps.

OK maybe I was expecting too much. Thank you guys for all the help I am going to check my intercooler pipe connections and am thinking of stacking on an EZ to see what happens. Jwinnie I am going with you on this and am hoping that both of our boost levels are right and we have no problems with our trucks. Thanks again Dshawhan

Do you have any kind of restriction in the waste gate line? I have a tst elbow in the waste gate line and could break 33 with ez and 275's now I can almost 38 psi _alls to the walls with comp and dd2's, I don't do it often so maybe I could get more who knows.

I've always wondered the same thing. With my setup (see sig) I thought I would be in the 30's; however, the most I see is 28psi and I've checked the clamps. I guess it just goes to show you that each motor is different.

My clutch, on the other hand, has held fine. No slippage. You can't have it all.

Boost

Check the boost elbow that was sent with the box. I had the same problem and wildcatdiesel told me to disable it and i could get 40 psi of boost on level three. The elbow that they sent you is letting it open around 30 psi. With my new setup i can get 45 psi with no problems.

Dshawhan, you dont want much more than 32PIS with a stock turbo,it goes off its map at about 34-35 PSI,gettign more boost out if only increases drive pressures ,makes a lot of hot air, which raises EGTS,and reduces power and shortens the life of the turbo. If you really want more boost. ,give it more fuel and a bigger turbo. I only got 37 PSI on my stock turbo at 425hp with a 14cm housing, with a drag comp on 5x5,and DD3's. With a B1 turbo, and the comp off, dd3's I can get 39PSI, with comp on 5x5 i get 50 psi with dd3's,and 54psi with BD7's.
