I installed my DDII's on Friday morning. I got them from Fred Swanson desertdieselparts.com I ordered them on Wednesday and they were here Thursday. Nice!!!!! I put them in myself with no experience. I had installed the injectors in my 01 but this was a little more involved. On the 01 it took 2 hours and the 03 took just under 4 hours.

The power level has increased quite a bit. Real SOP feel. I love em!! My EGT's are still very manageable. With the Horse trailer hooked up and 5 head in it( for testing) It weighs in at just under 13,000 lbs. I could pull as fast as I wanted even too fast with EGT's staying under 1200* no problem. Even on a very steep and long hill it can pull at 65-75 mph and I can keep it there without an issue. Now if I run WOT empty I hit 1200* at about 88 mph. Not bad. With just an EZ I would hit 1200* at 92 MPH.

If you are waiting for a box to come out get these instead. They have very little smoke. Not even as much and an 01 with an EZ.

Thanks, Greg

Greg,

Are you using the DDII's with the EZ or the bulllydog or did you eliminate the boxes with the DDII's? If you eliminated the boxes how much of a power increase over the EZ itself or is about the same? Also how soon does the power come on?

Thanks

JD

I am running the stock turbo, Edge EZ on level 4, Airraid replacement filter and 5 inch exhaust. The power up is as much or even more than adding just a box. Say double of a box. Egt's are still under 1200* except for WOT runs into the 90mph range. I will put on a pusherpump next week and then I will run the Bullydog box on this truck. I am waiting on a price for the DDturbo and will call Kurt as soon as I have a real price on a DD turbo. I read your post about Piers and will be calling ASAP. I do know that I beat the crap out of my DD HX40 and never had a problem at all. I mean I beat it up... . !!!! So I am kinda leaning in that direction. Good service, good products, good performance, and no problems will keep me sold. I highly recommend getting a set of DDII's. Not III's to much heat and smoke. I mean how much power do you really need????????

Greg

My egt's with 3's appear to be lower than yours from what your post says. These truck's can easily handle it with a turbo.

What kind of smoke and temp's are you guys getting with just ddlll's with no turbo, and would you guy's recommend a cramer pump and the over sized line's with these injectors:)

Krab, he's still got a stock turbo - for now. That's why his EGT's are up there.

BacknBlack, I wouldn't recommend you consider 3's without a turbo on a HO truck, especially with a box (which you need due to the boost module feature).

Ok kieth, If I was to go with the ddlll's what kind of setup would you use? (as in turbos, fuel lines, boxes, air filters) I've already went with a five inch exh. so now I'm going for the most bang for my buck. I would love to get to around 500 horse at the wheels.

I know a clutch is in order but I think I'll let the stocker smoke. And speaking of SMOKE, I'm know I sound like a punk kid when I say this (20years old) but I want this thing to smoke like Super.

But I guess I want the best of both worlds, I also would like to be able to pull 12,000# and not melt down. If i'm asking to much plese just call me a punk kid everyone else does:p

If you want to know what the package would consist of, get on our website and click the link to the configurator. Then tell it the year/make/model of truck and the HP you want - it will tell you the parts and prices.

The 03/04 trucks will not smoke like an old truck for the power they make. A 400hp 03/04 smokes like a 300hp 02, so that's not something you will see too much. At 500hp, it will make some if you lug a 6-speed, about like an 02 @ 350hp.

For towing your load, stick to the 480hp Stage 2 setup. At that level, you can turn the box off and keep EGT's in check when towing without a problem.

Cummins 600

I would like to put the DDII's in a stock 04 HO. Will this mod only set off and codes like over boost? I would like to do as suggested in this thread and go with injectors only, then box later.

Looks like TST has there box out now and of course it is sold out, and next shipment may be as well.

dkosheba, I would at least get a better air filter before installing DD2s such as DD's or AFE's setup. Then install gauges because you'll have to drive by them once you put the injectors in. If EGTs run high after install you may help by replacing your muffler or going with a 4" exhaust system which there are several brands available to choose from.

If you put injectors in let us know :)
