I have a completely stock 2006 CTD that is only a daliy driver. I want to add DDP 90hp injectors but do not want alot of smoke. Someone tell me truthfully how bad is the smoke. 50hp injectors just doesn't seem worth it..... but 90's scare me alittle. I don't want any programmers either. I plan on doing magnaflow exhaust and the 90's and that's pretty much it. Thanks

You might need a new turbo and airbox, as you will need to add air to the increased amount of fuel. Also, if your truck is a manual you can learn to drive around the smoke cloud by keeping your revs up during the shifts.

The 90 HP injectors are overkill for what you want. A set of 50 HP would be quite adequate and 25 HP even better if they are setup correctly.

A lot depends on the process to uprate the injector, the consistency of the process, and the angles the process holds. From what I have heard and seen the smaller the increase the bigger the gain in driveability and mpg when the process is exact an well done.

You will get some advance with the bigger tips and more fuel across the duration. If your not using a prgrammer and just looking for a little mileage then smaller is better.

I little different set up they yours, but even with twins I smoke like crazy and drain the fuel rail. I need to change the cam and upgrade the cp3 to make it any better. Stay with a 50 or less injector.

How many miles do you have? Getting complete injectors may be overkill unless you are over 100,000 miles too. I woudn't be afraid of programmers. The nice thing with a programmer like my jr is 3 different levels to choose from and 99 different levels selectable on the fly within that. That way you can detune for poor driving conditions, towing, or if someone else drives your truck. A few guys run 50hp injectors with the JR on economy with good results (90hp gain) if set on tow when towing they will slip the stock clutch. Daily driver with no other mods go with 50hp for less smoke and less strain on driveline.

Have you dynoed your rig? I almost went with twins, but decided it was too much of an undertaking to install myself. I'm very happy with my setup, but also want the upgraded cp3 to keep up with the demands of the smarty and tst. :-laf

90's would be too much for stock timing/turbo. . it would run VERY hot. In fact you would probably run quite hot with 50's and no programmer to adjust timing. I would at least get a boost/EGT gauge and a boost fooler if you want to run nozzles on a stock truck. Try to keep sustained EGT's below 1400-1450*, and boost in the 35-37 range.

My truck has 19K on it..... Maybe 50Hp injectors and a boost fooler?? I know alot of people are running programmers but I just think that is really hard on the injectors, espeically stock injectors. I have heard horror stories about edge, bully dog, banks, etc. I just want a little extra power to turn my 35" tires with little to no smoke. I am not racing anyone or pulling anything, it is just a daily driver.

Go with a Smarty Jr, much cheaper. I had 141,000 miles on my injectors when I had the nozzles replaced and they scoped out perfect. That was 141,000 hard miles of running the volumizer, smarty, and tst. :-laf

A programmer like a Smarty Jr won't hurt your injectors, it doesn't mess with pressure.

All injectors are "stock" only Bosch makes them.
