When I bought my used truck, the front sport bumper cover had suffered some damage. Instead of having it repaired, I would like to replace the painted grille and bumpers with chrome pieces (personal preference). From those who have done the sport conversion, are there any tricks to the swap, or is it simply remove one bumper/grille and install the other? Also, is there a difference in foglights between the sport and non-sport models? Thanks for your time.

Mike

The grilles should swap directly. I changed out my grille after a nasty rock chip incident, and it took less than 20 minutes. You should have a choice of the regular chrome surround with black inserts or the laramie chrome inserts. I'm not sure if the new grille will come with the inserts in it already (I ordered mine without), but be aware the plastic rivets that hold them in are kind of a pain to work with.

I'd be willing to swap grills with you, but mines a daily driver and I wouldn't want to run around without a grill waiting for an exchange. :D

If anyone is looking I have a black sport bumper for an 05 ( front and rear ) also a chromed rear. We became dealers for Buckstop Bumpers and we installed one on our 05. It looks sweet
