Three years ago I had to replace the TIPM and the fall after that I had to replace my batteries, there was not any sign of them needing it besides not starting one morning. The next fall I was getting the same code that my tipm was not getting power, so I replaced the batteries again and the code went away.
Well today I was out of state with the wife, baby, mother in law and a load of crap from Ikea, when i started the truck this morning i heard a thud under the hood, the kind where there is a kitty, I looked and could not find anything. Two hours later I pulled over so the baby could get out for a bit, got back in the truck and it would not start. Good thing i was meeting dear old dad there, so I tried to jump my truck and no luck. So I pulled the batteries and took them back for exchange at walmart. While doing so I dropped a wrench on the drivers side of the motor next to the radiator. Anyway, installed the new batteries and truck fired right up.
On the way home which is mountains and long streaches of nothing I had a few engine shutters. They all seemed to be around 70mph and 2krpm, when going up hill, cruise controll did not matter if it was on or off.
Then the truck's engine light comes on and the overhead says something about system needs service and see dealer now. When I would cycle through the overhead it would say system ok, then anywhere from 5-48miles later it would chime again and say to see the dealer. Cel is now on untill I get home.
I didn't want to turn the truck off for fear of being left in the middle of nowhere with the family, so I eased it on home. 1/2 mile from my house the red lightening bolt starts flashing at me and truck chimes again to go and see the dealer.
When I got home I pulled the codes via the key trick and recieved:
p0341 camshaft Position Sensor Performance - Bank 1 Sensor 1
p1011- Fuel Pump Delivery Pressure Too Low
p0480 cooling Fan 1 Control Circuit/open
p0652 sensor Reference Voltage 2 Low
p0192 fuel Pressure Sensor Low
p0087 fuel Rail Pressure Too Low
p000F Fuel System Over Pressure Relief Valve Activated
When I pulled them from he H&S I got all but the P0652.
I know that the fuel filter has not been replaced in 25k miles or so. I can take care of that one.
My questions are about everything else. .
Why would I need to replace the batteries every fall?
Is the filter my only problem or is there possiably a bad injector, pump, or??
I remember reading about shimming the fuel rail plug, do I need to do this now?
Truck is out side, loaded and awaiting me tomorrow am, any advice or thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
