I have been gone for the last six weeks at a school and when I got home last night, my truck, that had been sitting in the garage untouched, had dead batteries. I got the truck started after charging up the batteries but I couldn't figure out what killed the batteries. While driving it today, I noticed the horn wouldn't work. I check the fuse and it's blown so when I installed a new fuse, the horn is stuck on.

I know on these truck the horn is controlled by the PCM, right? I have read other posts about horns sticking but what is the fix for this? Anybody else seen this? The truck only has 5000 miles on it so it's still covered by warranty and will be making a trip to the dealer for this when I'm able.

A friend of mine with a 2004. 5 had a similar problem. Although his was intermittent. They finally replaced the horn pad on the steering wheel and that solved the problem.

It is the piece that covers the air bag. There is a circuit board looking device that activates the horn. Mine did the same thing. It took the dealer two visits to figure it out. They said they called STAR and STAR had never heard of it! B. S. !!! I even talked to a guy who had the same problem on his Chevy.
