Truck has been hard to start when warm for about 2 yrs now, but yesterday when shifting from 3rd to 4th it just died. I had fuel pressure and still get 18 psi when cranking, but no fire. Did key on/off thing and got p 1693. I think vp44 just took a dirt nap!! The truck has 116k on it and as far as I know it is the orignal pump. If it is the pump, who's should I go with (II's hrvp44)? Thanks

Rarley, and if I do no more than 8-10k. Was also planning on upgrading turbo in spring.

what is your main reason for considering a HRVP over a standard vp



purely hp gain only?

mostly but first do you think thnk the vp44 is my problem

the symptoms sure do point to a dead vp. did your truck ever blow white smoke at idle or driving?

no smoke was running good until I went to shift. Also I do have the wire tapped for the juice, Cody at II thought that might have been the culprit.
