DEAD ECM

My '01 2500 died last week and was able to trace it to the ECM. Had code P1689 and seems the module has given up the ghost. Now am looking for a good replacement since dealer said it's off the market. Any recommendations as I've seen them online with prices ranging from $200 to $2000. And of course they all claim to be guaranteed to be the one I need.

A Big Thanks for the info. Now I just got to hope it was an internal fault (in the matrix) that killed it.
