Last week I started noticing what feels like a "dead fuel pedal" in that I will be driving along and when I try to accelerate nothing happens. Is this the APPS thing that I have seen mentioned? It seems to fix itself when I down shift and it will do this with or without the cruise control on. Pretty weird.

Any help out there?

Thanks.

BTW, it is a 2002 6-speed and I just installed an edge EZ last night and that has not made any effect, other than grins while accelerating. :D

Possibilities are apps as you mentioned, lift pump and vp44 and possibly others as well. Pull your codes from your odometer and it might give you some more info and narrow it down.

You could try to reset the apps. Take both -negative battery cables off for about an hour. Put them back on, turn the key to the run position, and SLOWLY depress the accelerator peddle to the floor. Release it, and then start her up... Might fix her????

Had my APPS replaced about 1 year ago at about 18k, as I remember. Same symptoms you're experiencing. Pull codes for clues; try the reprogram fix and if no luck, then probably a new APPS is in order. Hopefully, you're still in warranty. Pull the EZ before seeing the dealer.

Best of luck... ...

Thanks for the help. I did the battery disconnect this morning and then drove 150 miles. The problem was gone for the first half of the drive, but then came back. :(

Is that common? I feel this can be a dangerous thing. I will search, but is there a good link to finding the procedure on how to pull the codes?

Any other ideas?

Thanks again.

BTW, I just installed my new FP gauge and have 12 PSI at idle, 9 PSI at cruise, but I can suck it down to 2-3 PSI with the EZ and me getting on it. How do those numbers sound?

Mine has dropped to idle 3 times in the last 5 months. Every time it threw a code and the CEL. Did you CEL come on?

Does your RPM surge?

My problem is the APPS.

I did the pulling of the codes and received the dreaded 0216. Does this mean that my VP44 is dead or will die soon. What is death like for these things? I know I can search for those answers, but my big question is...

If my VP44 is dying, how much **_t do I have to give my dealer to replace it? I am just over 50K miles. What is the best method for getting them to do it in warranty? I have not abused this truch one iota and just installed the EZ, after the problem had already shown itself. I am not real happy that this would happen with so few miles.

Thanks for the help.
