A friend of mine has a 2000 3500 w/ edge comp with out the injector pump wire hooked up. He just gave me a call that his truck shut down like the switch had been cut off while driving down the road. He had good fuel pressure per the gauge? I'm thinking that the vp44 has died? :{ He has a FASS pump sytem installed now, but has had the normal lift pump failures in the past before gettting the fass system. Do you all have any other ideas or possibilities? Or if it is the pump is there any way to get it to fire up to limp it home to save a tow bill?
Thanks in advance for you help, I'm just trying to help him get off of the side of the road.

Mine just shut off like that ( in the middle of Baja) and it was the fuel system relay under the hood. Replaced it with the horn relay and fired it up. Hope it's that simple.

Don't know what the exact circumstances are, but he may have also airlocked the pump. He should try bleeding the lines if he has any tools.

Thanks for the replies, I could not get him any results over the phone. He ended up getting it towed in. I hope it is something simple like the relay suggestion.

Thanks again.

Check the 10mm nut that holds the main harness connector under the fusebox cover located under the hood. Make sure the connector is pushed in and tighten the bolt. It has a torque limiter on it so it does not strip but it sure can loosen. Also check the tilt steering, move the wheel up and down as connections can be sketchy to the ignition switch.
