My truck is dead! Won't start at all. I tried to start it about an hour after getting home, and no go.

Have a code set P0336 Crankshaft Position Sensor

Is this as simple as replacing the sensor? Or should I also look for anything else? Truck has 170,000 miles.

I noticed for the last week or two that the starter seemed to turn over slower than normal. It would take 2-3 seconds to start. This engine usually starts almost instantly. I checked battery cables / connectors and had both batteries tested. All seems good.

I see the sensor is down behind the starter. Any unusual problems with replacing it?

Thanks for any help.

You will get a no start condition if the Crank Position Sensor is bad. Nothing special about the sensor itself other than the fact that it is difficult to access. Good luck.

When you attempt to remove it,do not break it off. Don't use anything to pry on it. You can spin it a bit to be sure it moves then pull it straight out or with a slight twisting motion. If you pull it sideways it will very likely break.
