Been having problems with the grid heater not comming on,(-15 f ) checked codes and got P0113, IAT. Today it was +23 f and it should of started without them. Checked codes again and got the dreaded P0253.

Cracked #1 injecter and got NO fuel when cranking.

Could it possibly be anything else Thanks in advance, Bill

I pulled the IAT today, it looked fine, gave it a good blast of brake cleaner and air.

Funny thing, I just shut it off last night with no driveability problems at all

From what I've read... . I don't think you are suppose to use brake cleaner on the MAP or IAT sensors.

Relay and fuse are good. I've used brake cleaner in the past on IAT without problems. What should one use? It looked like new before I cleaned it.

Could the ecm shut down the vp44 because of a bad IAT ?

I didnt clean it till after the no-start and the P0253 and P0113

Did you clear the codes before attempting to start? My brothers truck is throwing a po253 right now..... if you read my post & still runs/drives perfect.

Maybe your fuel gelled up.

Check inlet fuel pressure from the lift pump. Fuel gelling, a mostly plugged fuel filter, or a bad lift pump could be causing your problem. Some Bosch dealers have a diagnostic box that will start the truck and run up the rpm, bypassing the engine computer module. That will tell you if the VP44 pump is good.

Well... Cleared codes this morning and it started, hard then died, then fired right up and ran fine. The PO253 is gone but, still have the IAT ( PO113 )

I doub't I was gelling cause I'm running blended fuel with conditioner, got 12lb. fuel pressure post filter and its warm today like yesterday in the 20's.

Gonna run to town for new IAT and see if the PO113 goes away.

Will a bad IAT make the ecm shut down power to the vp44? I cracked an injector yesterday and had nothing, while cranking.

I'm scared the beast is gonna leave me walking in the cold.

Thanks for any help and ideas, Bill

My truck would just shutoff in the morning and then start right back up, did this once a month for 4 months, then it threw the same 0253 code, so after much searching I decided to install a new VP, well after about 800 miles on the new VP it shutdown and re-started with the same code again, I think its somethin else causing mine, and I will really start trouble shooting it, the truck runs awesome and I will not replace another VP till im sure its dead :) good luck and keep us posted.

Got a new IAT cleared codes then warmed it up. Checked codes again and still have PO113. I cleared it three times, it won't go away. Any ideas? Bill

Its a hard code... . meaning that it won't go away until the part is repaired.

Do you still have the old vp44? I'd be interested.

Just the PO113 no other codes now. I did have PO6O2 and the dreaded PO253

Changed out the IAT, erased codes but the PO113 is still there.

I'd feel better if this code was gone. Don't want to be dead on the side of the road.

I am not sure what to say now & don't want to keep throwing ideas at you & you spend money..... hope someone else will chime in.

Went to start this morning 10*, Let the grid heaters cycle and cranked for about 15-20 seconds, nothing. Checked under hood and the grid heater was warm, so I cycled it again and it finally took off with a little stumbling, then cleared right up.

Let it warm up good then about a ten mile drive with no problem. I'm afraid to get too far from home now. Checked for codes again and I still have the IAT PO113.

I cleared this code several times but it wont go away, at least the dreaded PO253 didn't reset.

What else would cause this PO113 not to clear, The IAT is brand new.
