Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Lift Pump ? What If

I noticed some fluid under my truck the other day. It ended up it was the water pump. If I took the tension off the belt I could move it a LOT in any direction I wanted.

After removing the pump I found the bearing was in really bad shape. (A spring, seal, and other items were floating loose on the shaft. ) It looks like the impeller was making contact with the cavity and the vanes have small pieces worn off.

I flushed the system, replaced the pump, replaced the thermostat, and refilled the system. Is their anything else you can think I should worry about? Should I run it a few weeks and replace the fluid again to make sure the are no more metal flakes moving around?

Thanks,

Mike S.

Metal flakes are pretty heavy and if you didn't see any in the pump cavity then they are in a place they will never leave. I wouldn't bother to change antifreeze again.
