I checked my fp off the vp44 got 8. 5 idle, 4 very light throttle 0 psi at med. throttle. thought I would take it to the dealer to get pump changed. They said they were going to do a flow test. Had 64 oz in 25 sec. told me it was ok and pressure does not matter. Told me lp was fine. I just cant see how you can good flow w/o pressure. Going to get second check at a real diesel shop. They also gave me a bad time about having a banks big hoss on it and that is why I have low fp.

0psi would seem to indicate poor flow to me. If they gave you a hard time. Might just swap it out for good measure and save the bucks of getting a third opinion. If the new one is the same. Then at least you have a spare. Something that I recommend anyways.

Got second test lp was bad. I feel like dealer was wanting me to ruin vp44 so they could make some money off me. I think I shhould get my $97. 00 back for crappy test they did. New lp is on and truck runs great. this one died slow and it was hard to notice any drop in performance. Now a fp gauge is a must. Iwould have changed the lp myself but arthritis prevents me fom doing to many mechanical things anymore.

Having my pump changed monday @ a dealer. He checked my pressure & it was only 5psi. He said they wouyld change it due to DC stating i should have 7psi cranking & 10 psi running. I have 56000 miles so i will have to pay the $100. 00 deductible. Good Luck

dealer said mine was good too. 2-3psi at throttle. i just replaced it myself for about $160 with the 4 new gaskets/washers. i got the parts from cummins.
