Having problems with TDR!!

how to post picture in profile

I've been a TDR reader for a long time but this is my first post on this website. I am looking for feedback from owners who have purchased a Ram over the phone or internet. An article in the #38 issue of TDR was high on a dealer in Idaho. I've found one in NM. Are there others you would recommend? Specifically, I plan to purchase a 2004. 5 3500. What have you learned from your experiece?

I ordered from tomeygun last month, he is very busy so takes a while to get back to you (best to call him) but he will give you a great deal.

I had a good experience with Henson Motor in Madisonville, TX. Email -- email address removed -- (B. J. Gallatin) or call 1-800-530-5337 and ask for B. J.

tommygun is good and responsive. Located in the midwest. Dave Smith in iaho is good. A couple of guys were working on dealers in oregon. They were in the 3rd Gen forum somewhere.

There is also a web page for rating dealers. I'm looking for it but haven't found it yet. PM me if you want me to keep looking or someone doesn't post it first.

Many seem to have had good experiences buying over the phone or online. This is a knowledgable group who usually know more than the dealers ever would. I tried to at least give the local guys a chance but was very disappointed.

Figure out what you want and buy exactly that. If your not so picky, you could call and pick one off the lot and get it faster. If your able, give tommygun your business. He's on TDR all the time and a ready source of info.

My first phone deal came about through the internet, specifically this site, the GREAT TDR. I bought a truck from Tomeygun and when my dad is ready to buy, we will be calling him again.

I bought my 01 from Brent Brown Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Provo, Utah. Searched for it on the internet, called and did deal on phone, went and drove, brought home on Friday, paid on Monday after I was satisfied truck was ok. No pressure, good price. 18773732570. Ask for Zac Davis, tell him Duane Boggs sent you.

Due to the local dealer in Great Falls being not only a crook, but also a pathological liar, nearly all personne on our base buy online or by phone from Dave Smith Motors out of Kellogg Idaho. The entire town is pretty much one big car lot these days, They have great service, very good prices, and are accustomed to doing business by phone, even trade ins.

We have only bought one vehicle from them, but we are planning to get another dodge this fall, it will be from them as well.

On my last two trucks I got the "starting price" via the internet. On my 04, Cars Direct directed me to Dishman in Spokane, WA.

In person I talked to dealers in Billings (Lithia), Butte, Livingston, and Idaho Falls. I also called Spokane (Dishman), GT. Falls, Ronan, Missoula, Cody, Lander, and the much touted Dave Smith. For a laugh I also called JC Billion in Bozeman just to see if they would lie to me again (I have them down for three lies over the last three dealings).

Yellowstone Country Motors has given me what I consider to be the best deal on my last two vehicles. Charlie, and Marcus on my 02, have been the best salesmen I've dealt with as far as giving me an "out the door" price without playing games. Pricewise they beat Butte by $100. Everyone else was more except Dave Smith.

Although Dave Smith beat Yellowstone Country Motors by $84, this was assuming they would have matched the 02 trade in value. Frankly, I did not entirely trust Dave Smith because the salesman called me to renig on the agreed upon price, and when I said "well thanks for your time and offer, good bye", they called me back to renegotiate. So I didn't trust what they would give me on the trade in and for any hidden "gotcha fees". Plus it would have cost me more to drive out to Kellogg. Finally, I have been told Dave Smith orders trucks without some of the factory options, e. g. tow package, and then puts their own aftermarket setups on.

Summarily, Dave Smith does alot of business but for my money Yellowstone Country Motors in Livingston, MT gave a better all around deal - twice. :)
