Well took the beast in for a re flash for the dead throttle, and the service adviser called and wanted to know who cleared the codes! Now they don't want to do the flash. These dealerships are a bunch of #$$@!. What is the point of having a factory upgrade if they are going to ***** about everything! So much for the thought that the service manager was my friend. Guess i don't need enemies with friends like that!Guess it's time to find a new dealer. OK ranting over, now taking pill!!

When you reset codes a time stamp goes into the ECM, so you can see how long it's been since a reset was last performed.

However, if you're certain no one has ever reset your codes, maybe when they self-reset it also leaves a time stamp? What I mean is, if you set a code it takes 40 consecutive warm ups without that code in order to clear it from memory. What if you had a code once that you never noticed, and it cleared itself, then set a time stamp?

This sort of information is not contained in any of the factory service manuals, and likely only someone who wrote the software could answer for sure.

codes

Why would the dealer be interested in your codes when they are doing a flash,They have to check and clear anyways. You probably benefit, often the flash can leave unwanted changes.

The dead pedal is a easy fix with out the flash. Just do the time learn thing work"s for most dead pedals.

I was told by a guy who works at a large Dodge dealership service department, that the ECM is reset if the batteries are unhooked for 7 to 10 minutes and then when the power is restored, it will only have a loss of battery power code. He told me this and winked when he asked what kind of a box I was going to buy to pump up the horses. But then maybe he winked because he got dirt in his eye, who knows--

That was the point I was trying to get across to the guy, don't care about the codes just do the flash!I tried the throttle reset and that did not help. Oh well got 7500 miles with it like this so far what's a few hundred thousand more!Makes me wish more and more I'd kept my 02!

codes

Catoiler,I would take to a different dealer that tech obviously does not known what he is doing, and if the flash steps are not follow correctly it can be a disaster.
