Who has a dealer installed exhaust brake on thier 06?

How does it work for you?

How much did it cost you?

Would you do it again?

I have one on my '06 Megacab. I think it was $1700 installed. I very much appreciate how well intergrated it is the the transmission. I do wish it would do an automatic downshift from third to second like it does from fourth to third. Moving the gear selector isn't a big deal but the 4-3 shift with the brake on is slick. I live in the mountains so I use it a lot, loaded or empty. I would definately do it again. In fact I like having and exhaust brake so much that I am considering and aftermarket one for my '03.

I had the dealer I bought the truck from install the exhaust brake. It works great on the steep grades here in Az between Black Canyon City and Flagstaff. Charged me 1600 dollars installed. I tow a 32 ft 5th wheel trailer.

I ordered the Jake Brake with my 06. Cost $1700 installed. Works really well with my manual trans. Tow 15,000 lb. 35 ft 5th wheel. Absolutely best buy I've made.

Had mine installed before taking delivery. LOVE IT! $1700 and worth every penny. It will be even nicer when I get the trailer on a big downhill. :)

So far, I only have to use the service brakes the last 30 feet or so to stop at stoplights... and the truck sounds cool when slowing down. :)

I had mine installed at about 4. 5K, cost me $1190 for the brake from the dealer and about $240 for labor. I have a dealer around the corner from where I work; it was the first one that they have ever installed so the tech took his time putting it in. Book gives 3. 5 hours, but it took him about 4. 5 since he wanted to be careful. I don't do any towing, but I wanted to get it to extend the life of my service brakes. I would definitely do it again.

We got the eBrake installed by Dave Smith, the Dealer, before we even picked up the truck. It is well worth the investment! Ours Cost 1350. 00 installed.

Hope this helps, stanmar

Mine works absolutely great! I think about $1650 installed. I would not have another truck without it. They should have done this much sooner. I also think they should install them on several trucks so buyers could try them before buying. I think they would be a great selling point. As has already been said, "worth every penny".

I had one on my '00 and have one in my '06. I had it installed by the dealer prior to delivery. They apologized for not putting the "Jake Brake" logos on the truck, and after seeing them, I can happily say I sure am pleased they did not.

The brake works nicely on my truck. I really like the switch on the shifter (on the '00 it was on the dash). The brake was an additional $1500 at purchase.

I have one and rolled it into the deal with the truck. Based upon the way we made the deal, I would say I paid about $950 for it installed.

I just completed a 1400 + mile tow through NY state and it was worth every penny. .

The integration with the transmission computer is great.

Would definitely do it again.

Haven't really towed much since new (3100 miles so far), but will be pulling 6-7000lb from San Diego to Flagstaff Thursday evening. Mine was installed by Bill Luke Dodge in Phoenix; $1500 installed. Love it. I have a 6 speed MC.

If i buy my own and install it myself will DC honor the warranty. I know i can purchase the same product for a lot less elsewhere, but want to be sure if i do it, it wont void the warranty.

Anyone have 5" exhaust with thier Pac Brake? Thats what im leaning towards.

Had the Jake installed by dealer when truck was new, $1600 well spent! Works great with the 48RE pulling 10,000 lb. TT in the Rockies.

I rolled the brake into the cost of the truck, can't remember how much. It is AWESOME! Rolling down Steven's Pass in Washington, I barely had to use the service brakes while towing our trailer. It works seemlessly with the auto transmission. I use it all the time, pretty much. I can see getting lots and lots of miles out of the service brakes. LOVE IT! DO IT!

I will join in. I too had Dave Smith put on my brake prior to delivery. Some where around 1300. Now would I do it again yes without a doubt. Would I put the control on the shift lever not sure. But for the install neatness down right poor. DSM strung wires everywhere loomed some did not do others. So I would make certain your install is clean. Brake works well mine has a slight sqeek when activating but works good

I did the same as AMink and rolled the cost into the truck price but worked the deal where I get the brake at dealer's cost and dealer does the install for much less (I also worked in re-installation of my fifth wheel hitch so I don't know the exact labor amount). Total cost was $1,100, less the $500 business link rebate.

Tested the e-brake this weekend, wouldn't have another truck without it (as long as I'm towing fifth wheels).
